CSR Hosts SiRFecosystem’s 3rd Annual Location 2.0 Summit

Intel and Nokia Keynotes to Provide Perspectives on Emerging Services and Platforms

CAMBRIDGE, UK and SAN JOSE, Calif., September 29, 2009 – CSR plc., a leading provider of GPS-powered location platforms, today announced the keynote speakers, featured speakers and the ten finalists for the Fast-Pitch presentations that will premiere at the third annual Location 2.0 Summit. The theme of this year’s Summit is “Connecting Content, People and Services,” and the event will feature keynote addresses from Anand Chandrasekher, senior vice president and general manager of Intel Corporation's Ultra Mobility Group and Samuli Hänninen, head of global product marketing for Nokia’s Ovi services.
About 200 of the global location industry executives are expected to gather on October 8th at the Omni Hotel in San Diego for this invitation-only event, which will feature keynote speakers, case studies, roundtable and panel discussions, Fast-Pitch presentations and the Peoples’ Choice Awards.
Featured speakers and panel participants include Christy Wyatt, vice president of software applications and ecosystem for Motorola; Philip Gilchrist, vice president of global product development for the Motorola mobile devices business; Curtis Sasaki, vice president of platform product management at Research in Motion; Maurice Thompson, director of open development for Verizon Wireless; Andrew Seybold, president and founder of Andrew Seybold, Inc.; Joep van Beurden, chief executive officer of CSR plc; Kanwar Chadha, chief marketing officer and board member of CSR, and founder of SiRF; Mark Disbrow, general manager of the Alcatel-Lucent location business; Dr. Pouya Taaghol, director or wireless system engineering and architecture for Intel; Renaat Ver Eecke, vice president for Navman Wireless North America; Ron Herman, founder and chief executive officer for IntelliOne; Steve Andler, vice president of marketing for Networks in Motion; Tim Davis, executive vice president and chief technical officer for Kionix, Inc.; Greg Turetzky, distinguished engineer and senior director of advanced technology and strategic marketing for SiRF; Bhavin Shah, director of marketing and business development for Polaris Wireless; and Richard Fuller, PhD, chair of the Location-Based Services Special Interest Group (LBS SIG).

Topic Discussions

Held in question-and-answer format to promote audience participation, the three sessions will focus on
• Monetization: Stories of Revenue Generating Location Services in the Market
• Deployment: Integration of Location Enabled Applications & Platforms in the Wireless Ecosystem
• Next Generation: Seamless Location
The sessions will conclude with unique three-minute presentations from the finalists of the Fast-Pitch competition. Participants will be able to utilize SMS-based voting to select their favorites from each group of Fast Pitches, and the winners will receive People’s Choice Awards.

Fast-Pitch Finalists

This year’s event again features Fast-Pitch presentations – three-minute, high-intensity sessions that demonstrate the benefits of using the power of location to enhance the daily lives of individuals, enterprises and communities. The Fast-Pitch nominees that were submitted have been judged by Kanwar Chadha and wireless industry analyst Andrew Seybold, and the finalists for each of the three panel discussion sessions are:
• For the Consumer Applications & Services category, the finalists are Geodelic Systems, for Sherpa; IntelliGolf for their IntelliGolf Eagle Edition; TeleNav for their TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5.
• For the Enterprise Applications & Services category, the finalists are Planet 9 Studios for RayGun; Socialight for their Socialight Community Platform; Telogis for WorkForce.
• For the Next-Generation Applications & Services category, the finalists are Aha Mobile for Aha; Navica Data Corp for their emark LOCATION ID; Networks in Motion for their App2App API program; Urban Mapping for Wildfire.

Awards

The afternoon will conclude with closing remarks and the Location 2.0 Summit Awards, an extraordinary opportunity to promote excellence and celebrate achievement in the industry. The cocktail reception accompanying the Awards will provide an opportunity for attendees to catch up with old friends, make new acquaintances, interact with other executives and leaders within the location industry and build strategic partnerships.
